CHAT programs are conducted by Judy Driscoll or Jessica Wall to highlight artifacts for volunteer greeters and other history lovers. See below for program dates & times.
Heritage Museum
Wednesday, July 15th, 11:00 am
In recognition of the Fourth of July and America 250, this CHAT program explores Poulsbo’s early immigrants through a single question: What did it mean to be American? Using texts, letters, and artifacts, we will examine how early residents forged a new sense of identity, nationalism, and pride.
Martinson Cabin
Thursday, August 6th, 11:00 am
Join us for a delightful pollinator program that celebrates the tiny creatures who do such big work. From buzzing bees to fluttering butterflies, this event highlights how pollinators support our gardens, food, and local ecosystems. On hand, we will have experts on the topic who will be happy to discuss the work we are doing to establish our very own pollinator garden!
Martime Museum
Tuesday, September 8th, 11:00 am
Discover the story of the Mosquito Fleet—the small boats that once connected our local communities before roads and bridges. This CHAT program highlights Puget sound Maritime’s virtual exhibit on 10 specific Mosquito Fleet boat models, drawing from our own artifacts in collaboration. Learn how these vessels shaped daily life and regional growth through stories, photographs, and local history.
Martinson Cabin
Wednesday, November 18th, 11:00 am
Join us for Soup & Stories at the Martinson Cabin- a cozy, come‑as‑you‑are fall event that invites you into the world of the Martinson family—the people who built the cabin, stirred the pots, and made a life here in Poulsbo. Over warm bowls of soup and shared laughter, you’ll hear stories of everyday moments, family traditions, and the small joys and challenges that shaped the Martinsons’ lives. Pajamas optional.
